Chamber Music on the Hill presents “A Piano Trio,” with Nicholas Currie, violin; Adam Gonzalez, cello; and David Kreider, piano. The concert will include music by Claude Debussy, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth, and the magnificent “Piano Trio in B Major” by Johannes Brahms.
Canadian-born Nicholas Currie is Concertmaster of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, and Principal Second of Concert Artists of Baltimore. He also has performed widely as a soloist and chamber musician. Mr. Currie is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Illinois State University. His schooling also included a summer in Fontainbleau, France, at the American Conservatory.
Cellist Adam Gonzalez, performs with the National Philharmonic and the Trio Giocoso. His commercial recording work has included music for the History Channel and National Geographic. He is a graduate of Wheaton College (IL) and has an M.A. in cello performance from Boston University.
Dr. David Kreider is a member of the McDaniel College Music faculty and is the founder and Artistic Director of Chamber Music on the Hill. He has performed solo and with duos and trios in concerts and recitals over the past twenty years. His repertoire includes compositions from Mozart to 20th century jazz and much in between.
