McDaniel College’s Department of Music will present its College Band in concert Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will take place in WMC Alumni Hall.
Dr. Linda Kirkpatrick directs the band, which features nearly fifty students, faculty members, band alumni, and community musicians. The band has a vast repertoire and performs everything from classical to pops.
This year’s concert will feature “Rise of the Firebird” by Steven Reineke, “La Tourterelle (The Turtle Dove)” by Eugéne Damaré, “Strange Humors” by John Mackey, “EARTH SONG” by Frank Ticheli, Concert Suite from “The Polar Express” by Alan Silverstri and Glen Ballard; “The Eighth Candle: Prayer and Dance for Hanukkah” by Steve Reisteter, and “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.
This year’s concert band consists of McDaniel students Emily Barker, Rachel Behrmann-Fowler, Shannon Bernier, Rachel Bier, Ethan Brown, Kate Donia, Tommy Fonda, Grace Gnatowski, Ryan Grant, Matt Hopson, Su J. Kim, Jonathan Lingg, Ricardo Loyola, Kyle McAllister, Luke McGreivy, Mollie Murphy, Matt Pelletier, Erin Pogue, Laurel Pogue, Andrew Pyne, Ariana Schneider, Jared Schrader, Jackie Sherwin, Mikaela Walton, Keith Wilkins, and Jamie Wimmer, McDaniel music faculty members Rachel Andrews, Mindy Niles, and Robert Sirois, and McDaniel alumni Esther Jones, Alan Lyons, Betsy Meade, and Deborah Seidel. Others in the band are community music students Joey Andrews, Chance Caprarola, Nathan Haerbig, Erin McGrath, and Aider Yeo, and community musicians Patricia Brunker, Walter Craig, Amanda Fidalgo, Dave Fitch, Nicole Helie, Greg Laslo, Kristi Magee, Ron Maleson, Gordon Masters, Danielle Mora, Nic Patterson, Lynne Scherbarth, and Chuck Siegel.
