The McDaniel College Choir will present “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” its winter concert, on Sunday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will take place in (Big) Baker Memorial Chapel.
The choir is under the direction of Kyle Engler, with David Kreider serving as accompanist. This winter’s concert will explore global choral works. The College Choir will be joined by McDaniel’s Gospel Choir for part the program.
The choir is comprised of McDaniel faculty member Margaret Christie and McDaniel students Arin Abrecht, Alissa Baker, Nailah Calhoun, Bryant Gutknecht, Jake Fine, Anjali Finn, Amanda Halcott, Elizabeth Hobbs, Kate Jacob, Rhema Jones, L.J. Kindall, Tommy Kormann, William McCarthy, Anna Odell, Matt Pelletier, Julia Reznikov, Julia Roman, Nikulas Schobitz, Sam Trapp, Matthew Tachoute, Mosa Va, Emma Walther, and Jewoine Wilson. Faculty members Jon Seligman and Shelley Ensor will also be featured during the concert.
Repertoire for this semester includes “Caramba” by Otilio Galindez (Venezuela), “The Music of Stillness” by Elaine Hagenberg (America), “Barso Re” by A.R. Rahman (India), Three South African Songs, “Abendlied” by Rheinberg (German), “Tonada Y Cueca” by Ruben Urbistondo (Argentina), “Parce Domine” by Felix Nowowiejski (Polish), “Mouth Music” by Keane and Faulkner (Scotland), and more.
