McDaniel College’s Department of Art and Art History presents “Romance Remixed: A Multimedia Student Art Exhibition,” February 27 through March 24 in the Hill Hall lobby. An artists’ reception will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on February 28.
In conjunction with McDaniel’s “I Love the Hill” month, students from Steve Pearson's Printmaking and Color courses and Chloe Irla’s Digital Imaging, Design, and Computer Graphics classes will be showcasing projects inspired by themes of romance and will question the validity of Valentine's Day on a college campus in this era of ubiquitous social media use. “Hoover Library generously donated hundreds of romance novels to our courses to use as materials and inspiration for projects,” notes Irla. Romance novels will be distributed at the opening by Hoover librarians and a screening of the documentary, “Love Between the Covers,” will take place that same evening.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information, call 410-857-2595.
