McDaniel College’s Department of Music will present the McDaniel College Gospel Choir’s fall concert, “Saved, Healed, Delivered!,” Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will take place in WMC Alumni Hall.
In addition to traditional and contemporary gospel music, the program will also feature spirituals. The choir is under the direction of Shelley Ensor.
The McDaniel Gospel Choir features McDaniel students Steve Alford, Anyia Allen, Ellie Anderson, Sierra Brewer, Mable Buchanan, Chase Bushman, Kayla Catlin, Christina DeJoseph, Sarah Edmonds, Olivia Elbers, Jed Fowler, Garrett Gregoire, Deja Hudgins, Ceanna Hudicka, Veronica Johns, Carrie Kaufmann, Alexis Knowles, Emily McQuarrie, Matt Meagher, Michael Osei, Lindsay Russell, Matthew Scott, Miriam Stewart, Jason Swartz, Dre Tackett, Akira Westbrooks, Eli Williams, T'ana Williams, Thea Westlake-Stearns, Jared Wilmer, and Caleb White. They are joined by community members Kay Betz, Yvonne Hatzen, and Lenny Foust. The band consists of McDaniel music department faculty members Glenn Caldwell, saxophone, and Jon Seligman, drums, as well as musicians Alice Dorsey, piano, Chris James, guitar, and Shawn Dennison, bass.
Ensor says, “Once again, our focus is on love, tolerance, and diversity. This gospel choir is the perfect example of people from diverse backgrounds can come together in a community of love and make a joyful noise. We will be performing a variety of contemporary, traditional, and 'out of the box' gospel songs!”
