Through November 17
McDaniel College Theatre presents a Student-Directed Play Festival, featuring two one-act plays, November 14 through November 17 at 7:30 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. The performances are free and open to the public.
In Regina Taylor’s "Between the Lines," Becca and Nina set off on an unpredictable journey. While Nina stays home to pursue a career, Becca empties her trust fund to travel the globe. Soon Becca's adventures fuel Nina's discomfort with a life devoid of real passion, intimacy and romance. When Becca returns, Nina's already primed to make a few radical—and violent—changes. The cast includes Erin Brown, Simone Davis, Liz Flores, Sarah Hull, Chesney Jamieson, Malcolm Jones, Ashley Manning, and John Wontrop. Senior Yichong “Angel” Li directs the play.
In his beguiling slice of life comedy "Crazy Eights," David Lindsay-Abaire examines a blossoming, awkward romance. When Connie comes home late one night, she finds her parole officer waiting in her apartment with a torte and a long list of questions. The interrogation/courting dance that follows is complicated by the after-hours arrival of Connie's charming card-playing buddy. The cast includes Najee Banks, Paul Davis Griffin and Shelley Hierstetter; senior Kiera Gillock directs.
