The McDaniel College Department of Music presents its Student Chamber Music Ensembles concert Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. in (Little) Baker Chapel. The concert includes performances by the Flute Choir, Flute Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, all under the direction of Dr. Linda Kirkpatrick.
The Flute Choir will perform “Latin Verbs,” a piece by Glenwood composer Jonathan Cohen, who will join the Choir as the contra bass flutist. The Flute Choir will also perform Kelly Via’s "Appalachian Suite" and William Boyce’s "Symphony No. 4." The Flute Quartet will offer Vivaldi’s "Spring Concerto" and Catherine McMichael’s "A Gaelic Offering," while the Woodwind Quintet will perform the Hindemith Quintet and William Grant Still’s "Folk Suite No. 4."
Student musicians involved in the various ensembles include McDaniel’s Kirsten Bickford, Olivia Brundage, Esther Jones, Sarah Lange, Veronica Lathroum, Monika Lemke, Victoria Mansfield, Emily Schaefer, Allison Wyper, and Carroll Community College’s Sean McGuire. They will be joined by community musicians Bethany Adamo, Barbara Bowen, Linda Caviglia, Jonathan Cohen, Linda Herrmann, Bobbi Little, Beth Ream, and Scott Taylor.
