McDaniel College’s Department of Music will present The McDaniel Clarinet Ensemble in concert Monday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in Levine Recital Hall.
Under the direction of lecturer David Duree, the clarinet ensemble will perform a varied program. The concert will feature highlights from the group’s performances over the past decade. “There are a number of compositions that the group has performed only once over the last ten years,” Duree said, “so we are resurrecting them for an encore performance.”
McDaniel College graduate student Allison Wyper is among the performers. Joining her will be community music students Courtney Donovan, Matt Joy, and Jenny Steiner. Brandi Jason, band director at Liberty High School, completes the ensemble.
Among the pieces scheduled to be performed are Claude Debussy’s “Golliwog's Cakewalk,” “Yvonne Despirtes’ “French Suite,” Ignazio Cervantes’ “Two Cuban Dances“ and a collection of ragtime compositions by Scott Joplin.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 410-857-2599.
