The State of Aging in Maryland

The conference will examine the critical issues and future directions related to meeting the needs and wants of elders in Maryland. It is intended for community members, medical professionals, public & private senior service providers, as well as business owners, educators, and others with an interest in learning about the current state and future goalsfor aging in Maryland.

Co-hosted by the Center for the Study of Aging at McDaniel College and the Learning Institute for Excellence (L.I.F.E.), Inc.

Keynote Address: Jimmy Rhee, Maryland’s Special Secretary of Minority Affairs

Susan Hutfless,Ph.D., Director- Clinical Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University

Dr. John Burton, MD., Director- The Johns Hopkins Geriatric Education Center

Jim Hindman, Founder of Jiffy Lube & author of “Was Blind But Now I See”
