The Westminster Symphony Orchestra will present its annual spring concert Saturday, May 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Carroll Community College’s Scott Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. The orchestra, composed of McDaniel College students as well as Carroll Community College students and community musicians, is under the direction of Dr. Linda Kirkpatrick.
This spring’s ambitious program will feature “Bacchanale,” from “Samson and Delilah” written by Camille Saint-Saëns and arranged by Gregg A. Porter, and “Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67,” composed by Ludwig van Beethoven.
McDaniel students in the orchestra are James Abdu, Kathleen Biddinger, Arielle Jochum, Esther Jones, Victoria Mansfield, Gordon Masters, Sean McGuire, Marlee Nelson, Luis Ortiz, Emma Piper, and Max Seigel. Carroll Community College students in the orchestra are Jessica DeTello, Mark Hare, and Geofrey Precht.
Community musicians in the orchestra include Tim Anderson, Andy Auffarth, Laura Benning, Kathleen Biddinger, Barbara Bowen, Kathy Bromelow, Samantha Brooks, Nicolas Currie, Rick Dellinger, Sheyla Finkner, Vincent Fiocco, Oscar Fisher, Lynn Fleming, Christian Hartman, Edward Hermoso, Mark Klein, Tom Maestri, Patrick McAvinue, Gracie McNeal, Jeanne Niebel, Daniel Ostrow, Hanul Park, Karen Reid, Laura Reiter, Cindy Rosenberg, Janice Rusnak, Julian Schoming, Rob Sirois, Scott Taylor, Brian Thompson, Alice Tung, and Robert Ungaretti.
