The Westminster Symphony Orchestra

McDaniel College’s Department of Music will present The Westminster Symphony Orchestra in concert Saturday, December 8 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will take place in WMC Alumni Hall.

The orchestra is composed of McDaniel students as well as Carroll Community College students and community musicians. Dr. Linda Kirkpatrick directs the group.

The theme of the concert is “Winter Through the Ages." Among the highlights is Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” which will feature solos by McDaniel string faculty members Tim Anderson, Nicholas Currie, Lynn Fleming, and Alice Tung. Also on the program are Three German Dances by Mozart, “Suite No. 1” from the Tchaikovsky ballet “The Nutcracker,” and “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.
